We sure made some great memories together! These kids were very high tech. They loved coding on Scratch, using Makey-Makey kits, and building Brushbots. I will miss them. |

2006 - Became a Highly Qualified Teacher in the State of Hawaiʻi
2007 - Survived my first year of teaching at Kahului Elementary School
2008 - 2011 Brought the University or Hawaiʻi Termite Project to Kamaliʻi 2nd graders for four years.
2008 - Competed in the Na Mele O Maui Song Competition w/ Makua Bonny and winning second place
with my class of singers
2009 - Received a grant for $5,000 from the Maui Economic Development Board to promote science,
technology, math and engineering in my classroom.
2009 - Helped my students win 2nd place and $1,500 from Education Works in the Diamond Bakery

2010 - Secured two grants for $1,000 each from the Kokua Hawaiʻi Foundation to help pay for environmental
2011 field trips to Iao Valley.
2010 - Brought Science Night: Space Explorers FESTival with Art Kimura to Kamaliʻi School
2011 - Mentored my first student teacher from The University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa College of Education
2011 - Ran an after school “Brushbot Club” for 3rd graders with Ms. Keelan
2011 - Watched my students perform with Makua Bonny in the Na Mele O Maui Song Contest where they won a
beautiful Mele Ukulele for 2nd place
2012 - Represented Kamaliʻi Elementary School and our After School Brush-bot Club the
Maui Economic Development Board’s 30th Anniversary Fundraiser Dinner at The Grand Wailea
2012 - Received a grant for $1,000 for an educational field trip from the Kokua Hawaiʻi Foundation
2013 - Acquired a grant for $1,000 from the Kokua Hawaiʻi Foundation to help pay for an environmental field trip to
Iao Valley
2013 - Invited to the Aloha Explorations Outreach Project’s telescope dedication with the US Air Force, Georgia
Tech, and the Maui Economic Development Board
2013 - Wrote and received 3 separate grants for classroom supplies and funding for a field trip from Donor's Choose
2014 - Acquired a Stereoscope-Microscope from a grant I wrote from Donor's Choose
2015 - Received five separate grants for science supplies, iPads, and field trips totaling about $4,500 from
Donor's Choose
2016 - Got funding for two buses to bring our students on the Atlantis Submarine and acquired various classroom
supplies from Donor's Choose
2017 - Secured funding for 7 grants from Donor's Choose for flexible seating furniture, art supplies, an online learning subscription, Zumba classes for all 4th grade students, playground balls for the student body, and bus
transportation for our annual 4th grade Atlantis Submarine field trip
2018 - Awarded 4 grants from Donor's Choose for a classroom carpet, flexible seating options, an online learning
subscription for students, and Zumba classes for all of 4th grade
2019 - Received 3 grants from Donors's Choose for flexible seating, classroom cleaning supplies, and Zumba Classes
for the entire 4th grade
